Publishing
Book editing services in the UK, at every level.
Developmental editing, line editing and copy-editing for novels, memoirs and non-fiction, with a fixed quote before we start.
- NDA before you share details
- You keep every right
- Written by people, never AI
Every book needs editing, but not every book needs the same kind. Developmental editing looks at the big picture: structure, pacing, character and argument. Line editing improves the writing sentence by sentence. Copy-editing catches errors, inconsistencies and style issues.
We read a sample of your manuscript and tell you honestly which level it needs, then give you a fixed price. You receive tracked changes and comments, so every decision stays yours.
Our editors work in UK English by default and can follow US style if you are publishing for an American audience.
Who it is for.
- Self-publishing authors preparing for release
- Writers submitting to literary agents
- Businesses publishing a book or report

After: “She crossed the room without a sound.”

Questions, answered.
What level of editing do I need?
Send us a sample and we will tell you honestly. Many manuscripts need a developmental edit first, then a copy-edit later.
How is editing priced?
By the hour or per word. The CIEP suggests minimum UK rates of about £37 an hour for copy-editing and £43 for heavier editing. You get a fixed quote up front.
Will you rewrite my book?
No. Editing improves your writing; it does not replace it. If you want a rewrite, that is ghostwriting, which we also offer.
